CLICKS.....

I think this article was interesting. It reminds me of every time I go to a web page and see an ad, Ill read it and look at it, but will not click on it. I my feeling is that the ad might be catchy, but deep down I know it will be some type of scam. Or once I click on the ad it will shoot me to a sight that is poorly designed, and I will spend longer then I was hoping to spend on the sight. Most of the advertising online does not apply because I have no extra money to be spent looking for things online.

I feel that mouse overs is a better tell if the advertisement is being viewed, and not always clicks. I believe clicks should be used for websites where a product in the same field that the web site that is being viewed is located for example (on a golf website a company an advertisement is selling golf clubs). But if on that page there is a car ad i believe the mouse over is a more suitable fit. Clicks are too hard to get some times and then anytime someone visits a web page the ad is noted as being seen is to easy. They need to find an equal medium that pleases everybody.

how Google works...

I believe that Google works, by using things called crawlers that google has created to monitor ,and then rate websites on a scale of importance to a certain subject. For example if you type in sports ESPN will be at top because it is highly visited and it a sports site.

How Google really works my believe is fairly correct it is just more complicated Google uses things called crawlers or spiders that builds a list of words and notes that are on different website. These crawlers normally start at highly visited websites The when some some types in a word Google then creates a list of sites where theses key words are located. This is called meta tags.

facebook growth

3,814,540 users in 2007 5,674,780 growth in kids 0-17 in 2009

2,826,660 in 2007 11,254,700 growth of 25-34 year olds in 2009

35-54 in 2007 680,260 In 2009 6,989,200

55+ in 2007 164,620 in 2009 954,680

Females in 2007 9,778,140 In 2009 23,429,960 females

I find these trends interesting because there is an older crowd of people joining facebook. In the 35-54 year old there is over a 200% increase in people joined. The college crowd it started with is not the growing number of users. The college students age group is not the one bring in the most new users. So the target of facebook might grow to an older crowd. Also the female population in face book has more then doubled. Meaning that females are on facebook and could focus and trraget these appealing to females.
